Very similar to screenprinting, but without all the set-up costs. This can be the cheapest option for branding some garments, however the finish does not give the same effect as embroidery.
We tend to use this method as low cost way of badging low cost cost garments such as t-shirts and high visibility waistcoats. However transfer printing is sometimes the only method for branding outer garments like coats, especially the backs, where embroidery is too expensive and screenprinting cannot be used.
There are no set-up charges for transfer printing, so this method is ideal for small quantities and where logos include multi colours. For larger quantities prices are very comparable with screen printing, depending on the amount of colours and complexity.
The quality of transfers has greatly improved over the years, and if applied correctly should last the life of the garment.
